I am passionate about creating personalized experiences, whether that be in my designs or meme selection.
During my Masters at Purdue, I also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant. I served as a UX consultant in Dr. Ankita Raturi's agricultural informatics lab and also did some cool work at CoLiberation Lab which focused on disability justice.
What else do I get up to?
As someone who is basically treated like Shazam (music-identifying application), I decided to create an audiovisual Instagram page @somewhatmajnoon
I cater to a variety of genres from mainstream pop to Korean rap to indigenous electronic music. Using an impressionistic art style, I create kaleidoscopic experiences that resonate with a variety of audiences. It also allows me to expand my skills in visual effects (VFX) and animation and acts as an outlet for self-expression. This project also gives me a break from a goal-oriented, fast-paced life.
As a cultural expert I also write about music for magazines like Aurora (Dawn) and Hamnawa. and the UX Planet (Medium). At Hamnawa, I also curate monthly playlists to highlight Pakistani music. Additionally I have created Wikipedia pages about Pakistani musicians.
In my free time, I like to go out with my friends and family to concerts, film festivals, dance performances, stand-up comedy nights, and art exhibitions.
